io avrei da dire solo questo: si differenziava da altri artisti solo per il semplice fatto che faceva uscire un'album ogni 3-4 anni e noi tutti non vedevamo l'ora aspettando con ansia ed emozione l'evento, adesso è caduto anche lui in versione commerciale ogni anno, (indipendentemente se buono o cattivo materiale) questo ci porta ad essere ipercritici (ed è bene anche esserlo)

Io penso che il discorso vada inserito in un discorso più ampio, relativo al modo di concepire la musica con l'avvento di internet, del download selvaggio, ecc.
Voglio dire che, oggi, il valore di un album (e ho scritto volutamente album e non cd, per sottolineare di più il mio/nostro vetusto modo di concepire questo artefatto intellettuale) è stato svilito da questa variazione, da questo nuovo modo di fruire la musica. E tutti gli artisti (non solo Bruce) sono obbligati ad adattarsi a questo nuovo modo di vivere la musica (video su youtube, concerti, ecc.). A questo punto credo che lo stesso format artistico "album" sia in crisi, se non addirittura superato.

Egoisticamente mi va bene ch ogni anno faccia un album e tour, e tuttavia sono d'accordo con rud krol e dansing sul discorso album.
Hipes hoppes come singolo di lancio per me e' abbastanza debole e non mi aspetto tanto dal nuovo album.
Mi entusiasmavano le voci di un nuovo album country che c'erano ad inizio anno.
Va beh aspettero' prima di dare un giudizio....

Alright, so as i claimed earlier, i was expecting a leak tonight.Although, what I WAS promised came true, i can't help anyone with what I PROMISED. What i mean is that i was promised a listening of the new cd by a buddy, but i wasn't able to keep it or share it like i originally thought...i can however provide some feedback from what i heard...I will go through each song one by one and identify once and for all the orgin of the work but overall, this album is ALL Springsteen and e-street band despite the 3 covers. forget what he said about them being outtakes and imagine it a new cd, ONE of his bests... he's doing what he's always should've done. In his early work he loved covering other songs and taking riffs and melodies out of songs to make his own. he was also known for scraping his best work. well this is a combination of both!

1. High Hopes (Cover) - we all heard it, we all know how it is
2. Harry's Place (Rising) - Nothing like Mary's Place so stop your wondering...very heavy guitar song with the likes of Worlds Apart and the Fuse...lyrics very similar to bruce's early writing. Tommy ROCKS this song and makes it an epic Jungleland-esque rocker.
3. American Skin (Post-Wrecking Ball) - different than everything we've heard of this song. The base of the song is still there but the melody is unlike what we've heard. a completely different take on the song. the guitars are more prominent on this one than before, espc with tommy's solo
4. Just Like Fire Would (Cover)- Just like the version we heard live, Morello included in it as well..very guitar heavy and great rocker.
5. Down In the Hole (Devils and Dust) - a dark dreamers tale with a type of Seeger-esque take. violin, guitar, drums piano organ and harmonica make this very strong. ..one line reads strongly from the chorus ... "when you're down in the hole, the world seems bare, gypsies tell tales of this dark life at which we stare"
6. Heaven's Wall (Working on a Dream) - slightly sounds like a beach boys pop song in the likes of "This Life" but stronger than anything else on WOAD. almost seems like a first take on the Danny Tribute song "Last Carnival" reading "When we break through it all Billy, we'll be endlessly stuck at heavens wall"
7. Frankie Fell In Love (Wrecking Ball) - DIDNT GET TO HEAR
8. This is Your Sword (Wrecking Ball) - DIDNT GET TO HEAR
9. Hunter of Invisble Game (Magic) - this song is about a person searching to place blame but (the game is invisbile because the only person he can blame for his sins is himself, therefore the "game" doesn't exsist. this is a slow ballad that builds up in the likes of Devils arcade, but much heavier than the latter. If Rage against the machine wrote a ballad it would be, HUNTER OF INVISBLE GAME lol
10. TGOTJ (Re-Make) - this version is almost the same as the live "full band" arrangement but with some loops and shouts and electronic noise...starts with slashing guitar intros...also includes a killer Bullet Mic'ed Harmonica solo
11. The Wall (Wrecking Ball) - Mainly bruce and the piano, but like dream baby dream it picks up with other drums and electric guitars and the sligth strum of an acoustic guitar...sounda lot like Jesus was an only son
12. Dream Baby Dream (Cover) - we all heard it, we all know how it is
